Greg Ramsden studied Fine Art at Sheffield, graduating in 2003. He has exhibited work in and around Sheffield including Chambers Solicitors, The Access Centre, Paradise Square, Maxis Experimental Music Festival 2003 and Sonus 2003. He has also worked with several theatre practitioners by creating textual soundscapes in order to provoke modern approaches to theatre. He uses audio and visual energy to create the context for his paintings.
His training was in painting and printmaking, which continues to be the main focus of his current work. Greg exhibits his work in solo and group exhibitions and has played a vital role for the past three years as a leading artist in a community arts festival held in Devon. His studio is based on the Devonshire Coast, from which he draws his influence.
He has created artwork for public spaces, galleries, music events
and he has created story boards for short films.
His work is an exploration into the human senses and how they create the external. Greg is a Dyslexic and within his work, he investigates the effect Dyslexia has on these senses. Dyslexia especially increases his visual and spatial ability. Such influences of Greg's work include George Shaw, Murray Schaffer and Turner.
